I was able to put together this trip using miles for an around-the-world trip that would have cost more than $60K for 1st class airfare total for all flights that were done for $140 and 450,000 miles on United and $200 and 190,000 miles from Alaska Airlines on Qatar Airlines. My objectives are 1. Circumnavigate the globe, 2. Get to 1K status on United with points earned and 3. Focus on cities where I can use Bonvoy (Marriott) points for hotels, and 4. Add at least 6 new countries to my total count country currently sitting at 83 and do the entire trip in under 3 weeks while keeping the cost under $2500 US.
